Ispirandosi a eventi realmente accaduti, Colonia racconta la storia di Lena e Daniel, una giovane coppia che rimane
implicata nel colpo di stato militare avvenuto in Cile nel 1973. Quando Daniel viene rapito dalla polizia segreta di
Pinochet, Lena segue i suoi passi fino a un'area inespugnabile che si trova nel Sud del paese, chiamata Colonia
Dignidad. La Colonia, apparentemente, è una missione guidata da un predicatore laico di nome Paul Schäfer ma,
nella realtà, è un luogo dal quale nessuno è mai riuscito a fuggire. Lena deciderà di entrare a far parte di
questa setta allo scopo di ritrovare Daniel.
